Despite some strong wind and rainy weather that can be part of the start of the season, August ended up being an absolute cracker! The conditions, while challenging, did not deter our dedicated anglers. In fact, they seemed to thrive in the unpredictable elements, resulting in several billfish being caught and successfully released back into the ocean. This is a testament not only to the skill of our anglers but also to the health of the fish populations in our waters. Alongside the billfish, we encountered more bait fish than we knew what to do with, which is always a good sign for the ecosystem and months of fishing ahead. Not to mention, we also managed to reel in some very tasty game fish, perfect for the dinner table, satisfying our cravings for fresh seafood and adding to the overall success of our fishing endeavors this month.

In addition to all this thrilling action on the water, nature has gifted us with some spectacular wildlife sightings. There have been numerous whale sightings, which always captivate the hearts of those lucky enough to witness these majestic creatures breaching and spouting in the distance. Dolphins have also been spotted frolicking alongside our boats, their playful antics bringing joy and excitement to our fishing trips. Turtles, too, have made appearances, gliding gracefully through the water, reminding us of the rich biodiversity that surrounds us. Among these encounters, we also celebrated several remarkable firsts, which we always enjoy.

Congratulations are in order for all our UnReel anglers this past month, particularly for one little birthday boy who experienced the thrill of catching his very first deep-sea fish—a magnificent 14kg wahoo! This impressive catch not only marked a milestone in his angling journey but also created lasting memories that he will cherish for years to come. Additionally, we had another enthusiastic angler who successfully caught his first-ever sailfish, a dream that many are still chasing. UnReel sees a lot of firsts, and it’s truly awesome to witness these moments unfold. Each catch is a story waiting to be told, and we take great pride in being a part of our anglers' adventures as they explore the vast ocean and forge connections with nature.
